Paper trading and real trading use similar concepts such as orders, positions, risk, and P&L, but the experience is not identical. A simulator helps you practise mechanics and test a process without risking capital.
What changes in live markets
Real trading introduces emotional pressure, actual fees, slippage, liquidity constraints, and the possibility of losing money. A paper-trading strategy that looks successful may behave differently when these factors are included.
Use a transition plan
If you eventually trade live, start only after understanding the risks and rules. Use smaller exposure, preserve the journal, and continue measuring execution instead of assuming simulated results will transfer automatically.
